Actress Sai Pallavi Latest Interview revealing reason for refusing to act in Fareness Cream advertisement

Making a majestic entry with a bang as Malar Teacher in the Malayalam movie Premam Tamil actress Sai Pallavi has a huge fan following after the film. Here Sai Pallavi reveals the secret as to why she had turned down the offer to act in Fairness cream advt .

My world is very small and limited to my parents, sister Pooja and a few friends.
My sister is very crazy of burgers. We wanted her to get rid of this habit somehow . She had an inferiority complex that she is not as fair as I am. She used to repeatedly say this when both of us looked at the mirror simultaneously.
Sai Pallavi Latest Interview

So now I used a strategy..I told her that if she stopped eating burgers and switched over to eating vegetables and fruits she would get my fair complexion. My words were bible to my sister and she followed my advice sincerely to the core.Even though she did not like fruits and vegetables she ate them without complaining with the soul purpose of becoming fair.
This hurt me badly when I realized the indictment and the damage I have caused in the mind of a girl younger than me by 5 years. My heart wept.
At this time I got an offer to act in a fairness cream advertisement..which I had refused bluntly. I thought what will I do with the money film this advt .I lead a simple life and my wants are very limited. When I go home at best I may eat 3 chappathis and some rice. I dont have high expectations or desires. I only wish to make people around me happier.

Our perception on skin and its complexion is totally flawed. Its only the Englishmen and the Europeans who are fair. The complexion of an Indian since time immemorial has always been dark.

Will you dare to ask the whites as to why they are white or would you ever tell them that they are bound to get skin disease due to their skin complexion.
Dark has always been our complexion, the typical Indian complexion.

Had I not acted in the film Premam..I would have definitely used at least 100 facial creams..I have never redone my eyebrows so far.The film's director never objected to it.

During my formative days I used to pester my mother with a constant question. How would I be accepted as a heroine wuthout redoing my hairdo or eyebrows.More over my voice wasn't feminine at all.All these scared me like hell.I had held my mother's hand nervously as I watched the movie Premam first day first show on the day of release itself.

Like most diffident teenagers I too had a lot of self doubt and an inferiority complex .

But the moment I realized that my fans had accepted me as I am the self doubts and diffidence in me vanished totally. So whenever I get the slightest of chance to create a positive change I would never want to miss it..So I grabbed the opportunity to change the mindset of diffident self doubting teenagers by turning down the opportunity to act in the fair cream Ad film.
