Question to Trisha :
Tamil actress Trisha with her mother

Where did you study

Answer from Trisha:

I studied in the same Church park school from LKG to plus two where the late CM Jayalaltha too studied.Maths and English were my favourite subjects and I scored very high marks in both subjects.

Question to Trisha :

How did you become a model
Answer from Trisha:

I told my mother that I wished to do modelling. She did not know anything about modelling then. She contacted people in that industry . Based on their inputs and tips she prepared me for modelling. The Ad film makers wanted my photographs. I did not have any professional photos of mine then. So I had given them the photos that were taken with the family during the vacation .

That's how I entered the modelling world.

Question to Trisha :

How was your first assignment ,
Answer from Trisha:

it's green in my memory..My mother received a phone call. Medimix was looking for a model and the screen test was going on in AVM studios. Then I did not even know where AVM studio was. Enquiring from passers by enroute to AVM I reached there with my mother. After the screen test we returned with no hopes at all. My mother was taken by utter surprise when we got the news that I was selected. She couldn't really believe I was in..for there were many experienced professionals in the race. This advertisement went in many languages and got all India coverage. This advertisement brought me plenty of offers for soap and cream Ad films.

Question to Trisha :

Your experience of becoming Miss Chennai
Answer from Trisha:

Shoba Vidya was a modelling coordinator. She was the one who took me to Salem and suggested that I should take part in Miss Chennai contest. I was just 16 then.In the finals they asked me what is important in life.
Honesty .But it's very difficult to be so. This was my reply and it impressed the jury very much and they selected me as Miss Chennai. My mother literally cried when the results were announced.

Question to Trisha :

How did you enter movies
Answer from Trisha:

The moment I won the Miss Chennai contest 3producers approached me. My mother was for my completing my education first .I was doing BBA then .I wanted to pursue MBA either in London or Australia. But Tamil film director Priyadharshan convinced us to do His Lesa Lesa. My class mates had gone abroad for further studies while I stayed back in Chennai to act.

Question to Trisha :

When did you take the call between education or acting

Answer from Trisha:

Cinema is very risky . Initially my parents were very apprehensive. I asked them for two years time. If I progress within 2years in my career I will continue or else I will pursue my education. This was my promise to my mother. Both Lesa Lesa and Mounam Pesiyathe..gave me fame and name in the film world.

Question to Trisha :

What do you like most in your mother's cooking

Answer from Trisha:

My mother's Morkuzhambu , Rasam , Uruzhaikizangu chips are my favourites. When I go abroad I used to eat all the popular dishes of those places. I eat more during the weekends than in week days.

Question to Trisha :

Your mother who used to accompany you during shooting those days doesn't come with you now

Answer from Trisha:

My mother accompanied me during the first two years of my career. Later I had gained enough self-confidence to go on my own with my assistants.

Question to Trisha :

What are the film's which really took a heavy toll on you

Answer from Trisha:

Varusham, gilly,Ayutha ezhuthu .All these three films were shot simultaneously under water.I had strained physically . Unable to bear my sufferings my mother cried. My journey to the place where I am in currently wasn't that easy.I had crossed several hurdles to reach here.

Question to Trisha :

Yours father's demise and the break up of your marriage..how did you manage those turbulent situations..

Answer from Trisha:

My mother and my grandmother are both very brave and courageous. Like them I too don't like to brood over the mishaps in life. The sadness and the tears may last for two days and then I bounce back to action in full swing . Of course when my father passed away we felt sad and lonely too. But soon we realised that we must prepare ourselves for the next phase of our life.

Question to Trisha :

How do you feel now

Answer from Trisha:

Now I am very confident and clear. I don't take decisions in haste. Now I have the maturity to take decisions based on the pros and con. Initially I had accepted offers where I had only a couple of scenes just because it was a top hero's movie. Now I accept only if I like the script and I have a prominent role too like the movie 96.

Question to Trisha :

What about your marriage

Answer from Trisha:

I am not totally against marriage. But no one can force me.When I find a man to my liking I will definitely marry.

Question to Trisha :

Do you miss your mother when you go out of town for shooting

Answer from Trisha:

In this digital world no one need to miss any one. I am constantly in touch with my mother updating her and sharing all about me from the food I eat, to my costars in the movie. That way we never miss each other.

Question to Trisha :

Trisha's mother shares her views now..

Answer from Trisha:

I am very happy now. None from our family before Trisha had been into movies. Trisha alone wanted to get into movies and all that she dreamt has come true. Now a days she no longer depends on me for anything. She is independent and competent enough to select her roles and films. We never hide anything from each other and we are very transparent. We don't behave like mother and daughter but like good friends.Ofcourse we do argue and fight. But soon we reconcile and after every misunderstanding we understand the other better. I do give her freedom within a certain limit. I do question her when required. We had celebrated her birthday in Thailand where both of us exchanged plenty of gifts. That way I am really happy to be Trisha's mother, sister, friend and manager too.
